CBTS Technology Solutions LLC Storage Engineer II in Chennai, India
Job Purpose
As storage occupies a key position in today's IT and data world, the need for efficient, integrated storage solutions has become a top priority. This individual will be responsible for the administration of Storage Area Networks, as well as storage solutions for GE. This person is also responsible for the data storage aspect of GE and would be part of the storage team in the storage implementations and maintenance of the data storage networks.
Essential Functions
35% - Administer Storage Area Network.
50% - Overall maintenance of the GE storage environment.
5% - Active involvement in the development and execution of a backup and disaster recovery architecture and plan for the GE data centers.
5% - Active involvement in the expansion of new opportunities with GE as they expand their storage requirements.
5% - Team Leader responsibilities.
Experience
6 to 7 years of experience
Several years' experience in data storage, including SAN and NAS.
Demonstrated ability to lead projects.
Successful candidate will have experience with Open Systems Storage Management tools such as EMC, Hitachi, NetApp, and other SAN management tools.
Candidate should also have experience with data storage hardware and software.
Experience designing and implementing SAN - NAS is a plus.
Linux - Windows experience a plus.
Project Management experiences a huge plus.
Candidate must have good experience in documenting and drafting technical procedures and processes.
General Administration of SAN - NAS experience is necessary.
General understanding of data backup and restoration.
Effective communications skills.
Good teaming skills
Education
- Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses
- EMC, Hitachi, and/or NetApp
